Nancy Ballew
Principal Artist, Ballew Studio, Inc.™
The principal artist of Ballew Studio, Inc., Nancy Ballew is an Atlanta based artist
specializing in hand-painted fine art murals, trompe l'oeil, ornamental panels and
scenic backdrops for residential interiors, corporate and commercial projects.
Although Ballew mainly paints in the traditional style, she is also at home creating
whimsical images for nurseries and playrooms.
An accomplished painter with a BFA in Illustration and Painting from Auburn University, Ballew developed her exceptional eye for dramatic color and composition as a set designer for Griggs, Van Horn and Associates, an Atlanta based special events decorating company.
Besides her extensive residential work, Ballew has murals in two downtown Atlanta
buildings listed on the National Register: the Capital City Club and Muse's
Lofts. Ballew has produced several murals in the Atlanta Market Center, the
Chicago Merchandise Mart and the Dallas Market center. Her corporate murals can
be seen in showrooms as close as Alpharetta, Georgia and as far away as Taunton,
Massachusetts. Ballew's murals also adorn the halls of several metropolitan
Atlanta area schools.
Ballew has produced scenic backdrops for many corporations including Microsoft, The
Coca-Cola Company, CSX Intermodal, The Home Depot, and the Atlanta Braves. Her
backdrops have also been displayed at several high profile events in the Atlanta area
including Atlanta Symphony Ball, the Atlanta Mayor's Inaugural Ball, and Zoo Atlanta's
Beastly Feast.
Ballew teaches hands-on mural workshops in the Atlanta area, and has an upcoming
teaching engagement in Siena, Italy this fall where her students will be recreating a
fresco image on the walls of a local chapel.
